There was a civic ceremony held in St Johns Church for the guests, including the Lord Lieutenant of the County and mayors from around Yorkshire.
Following the ceremony, the Band of the King's Division led the parade around the centre of the town.

As was to be expected, it was very windy at Royd Moor Viewing Point. Over 150 people took the bus tour, and 251 climbed Hartcliffe Tower.
