Picture Gallery - Launch of the 'Explorer's Guide to Penistone & District'
The Explorer's Guide to Penistone & District was launched on the 29th March 2006 in St Johns Church Penistone, in front of an invited audience, including the Lord Lieutenant of Yorkshire. Many of the contributors to the Guide were present; Gill Tyler, the illustrator, is in the photo above, with her young son.
A box of books was ceremoniously opened by Maureen Harrison, Chair of the Partnership, and Roy Miller, the Mayor of Barnsley, watched by John Hislop, the author & editor of the Guide.
A buffet lunch was enjoyed by the guests. John Wade, our Vice Chair is shown talking to Father David Hopkin.
