Community Garden Scheme
The Partnership has acquired the use of some land in Springvale to develop a community garden. The scheme was overseen by Mark Quinn, previously the Community Gardens Officer at the Partnership, who initially was very busy clearing the site. A group of interested gardeners had the use of 2 polytunnels and some open land, and raised their first crop of vegetables in 2007. Gardening is a great way of increasing physical activity, and filling your lungs with fresh air.
All sorts of ideas have been suggested for the site, and it is hoped to involve local groups and schools in some of these.
