Adopt a Path Scheme
A small group was set up to organise the Adopt a Path scheme in Penistone East & West. Following a successful application for funds to CIF (Community Investment Fund), 5000 bookmarks were printed, most of which have now been distributed.
The launch of the scheme was held at Langsett Barn on Sunday October 15th 2006. A guided walk was led by Joh Hislop, the Living Heritage Officer at the Partnership, and a children's activity trail was set up through the woodland. Afterwards, there were refreshments and the opportunity to adopt a local path. The launch was very successful with walkers and families, and visitors came from as far afield as Denton, near Manchester.
