Playground Development
The plan to revitalise Silkstone Playground at Martin Croft was put together by a group of local mothers, and featured in the Barnsley Chronicle in September 2005. A quote was received for a playground layout, with various 'mix and match' play items specified, depending on the budget available. Further funding options were explored.Funding was obtained from Greenspace Awards (BMBC) to provide more play equipment and from Rural Target Fund to fence the area. The final piece of equipment was installed in November, and the fencing will be finished shortly.
